Depending on the situation, existing buildings may need to be removed prior to the build commencing, or at a certain stage during the project. Just know that with Applefields, demolition is handled respectfully, and disruption to the community is kept to a minimum.
Before the main build can begin, the construction of good foundations is required. Our team have vast experience, from excavating huge amounts of material, levelling sites and pouring concrete to form foundations. Using much of our own machinery we are able to provide an effective, streamlined service.
Over the years we have utilised many building techniques, from standard block and brickwork to complex timber and steel structures. Modern building techniques often utilise a range of materials to provide a cost-effective, strong and safe structure.
Roofing is where many less skilled teams go wrong. Our roofing contractors are experts, they are able to provide anything from a simple flat roof through to complex geometric layouts that require great skill and experience to successfully construct.
Many modern builds utilise stud walls to optimise the project pricing, increase the speed of the build and oftentimes allow cables and pipework to be simpler to install and maintain in the future. Our skilled carpenters are able to provide anything from stud work to precision door installation.

During your initial consultation, we will look through your plans and discuss any architectural drawings you have. We also gather all the information our estimator will need to provide a thorough quotation, as well as discuss any questions you may have.

During planning, we will be looking at the project timeline, what and when materials will need to be delivered, and plan the project timings. This allows us to keep your project on schedule and allow you to plan and allow for any disruption.

Site preparation can vary wildly for each project. It may include demolition of existing buildings, resculpting land, constructing safe site access or planning welfare facilities for our on-site staff.

This is where your project really gets going. We carry out the groundworks, concrete and foundations are poured and the building begins to grow out from the ground. Eventually, the roof, windows, and doors are added and your extension is taking shape.

This is where plumbing and electrics are added, any non-structural walls are erected and your extension is finally becoming part of your home. Dependant on individual circumstances this might also be where existing walls are removed allowing interior access to the extended part of your property.

During this stage walls are being plastered, the second fix electrics and plumbing are installed, and any bathrooms, kitchens, or any other finishing details are added. Of course, all decorating and final touches are completed. You can now enjoy your new home.
To allow us to follow the project all the way through to completion, we also provide the following services. We use specialist teams and often our approved contractors to allow us to seamlessly complete your new build home from planning to the day you move in. Over many years, we have partnered with sub-contractors that are nothing less than masters of their trade. We will never use a sub-contractor or supplier that we have not used before, fully vetted or do not 100% trust to represent the Applefields brand.
We work with only the best window and door suppliers and installers. Windows and doors are often used as one of the key features of a project, from huge bi-folding doors that invite the garden in, to energy-efficient solutions to keep your home warm. A professional installation is an absolute must.
We have recognised over the years that skilled, reliable plumbers and electricians are few and far between. Having a trusted team available right when they are needed is key to keeping your project schedule on target and to a high standard.
All projects need to be finished to an exacting standard. This starts at the beginning of the project with groundwork, blockwork, carpentry and finally the plastering and decorating. To really get the perfect finish, we always use our trusted contractors to ensure that their standards meet or exceed our exacting requirements.
Applefields completed a full property refurbishment; taking the house back to brick (internal and external), re-configured the layout on the ground and first floor, and installed a large extension off the rear of the property. They were brilliant from start to finish!
