Applefields completed a full property refurbishment; taking the house back to brick (internal and external), re-configured the layout on the ground and first floor, and installed a large extension off the rear of the property. They were brilliant from start to finish!
Their communication was superb, receiving regular daily updates and photos (as we didn't live in the property throughout the works).
Most of the trades work directly for them, and all of their work is of the highest quality with great attention to all the small details.
We couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Once the work started they were efficient and everything was done to a high standard with quality materials and they transformed a damp cellar into a good sized room.

We had a load-bearing wall removed, a door shifted, and another door added. We chose Applefields after meeting them and discussing the job at length. The price seemed competitive and we wanted an experienced team given that it was mostly structural work. They were a great bunch.

Amazing work from start to finish, Pete and his team did a stellar job in our bedroom, removing the old defunct chimney breast and totally renovating the room. Applefields were recommended to us and were one of four companies we asked for quotes for our kitchen renovation. This included wall removal, new skylight, external insulation, bi-fold doors, wet underfloor heating and new kitchen.

Applefields have recently completed a rear and side extension to our property also a patio and front garden path. The team were absolutely fantastic, very conscientious, hardworking and punctual, even in 30 degree plus temperatures! In January 2016 we set out to convert a small bungalow in to a large four bed house. It was initially intended to be an extension but due to insufficient footings the old building had to be removed and we were forced to reapply for new build permission. Building continued while awaiting permission, Mark and Dave from Applefields helped make this stressful time a whole lot easier, providing help and advice whenever asked and made alterations to ensure we could reach efficiency levels. Our local Parish Council who had originally agreed to the extension now objected to a new build and took us to a regulatory board. Applefields rearranged their schedule to allow us time to wait for this decision and they also assisted us with a letter confirming the state of the footings and our need to rebuild.
We were granted permission and Applefields were straight back to work. With Applefields guidance and help we integrated solar panels, a water recovery system, a vaulted landing with ridge windows, underfloor heating and a new driveway throughout making this our perfect family home. All the way through we felt they were approachable and professional. Communication was always open, honest and frequent. Pricing was clear from the outset and changes and alterations were discussed and agreed. Truly Master Builders!
The first day coming out of the ground, which was already exciting for us, saw Applefields go above and beyond and invite our 9-year-old daughter to assist them in laying the first brick. This will always be ingrained in hers and our memories. It is a story we have told over and over again. The delays we faced due to the planning issues which lead to changes of materials were handled with complete professionalism. My father was supposed to help with the electrics but when he became ill with cancer this again caused delays and Applefields compassionately stood by us offering help and rescheduled plans. During the build, we also suffered storm damage and the concrete star manufacturers altered the stair dimensions without informing us Applefields took both these in their stride cleaning up, making good and working out solutions.
Late in the build, I broke my arm at work, which caused another delay and without hesitation Mark, Dave and the team even offered to help us move and generously celebrated the completion with a bottle of bubbly. ABOVE AND BEYOND! We are so very glad we found Applefields and have already been recommending them to all our friends.

However, after good advice from Mark, we went for a large conservatory that met out toilet/shower specification, saving us both time and money in the process. What followed was a constant flow of highly professional, hardworking, skilful builders, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, conservatory constructors, carpenters and decorators that one could ask for. On time, very pleasant to have around, cheerful, extremely knowledgeable and programmatic at every turn of the build. I have always marked the quality of a workman by how clean the work area is left at the end of the day and I can tell you, it was spotless!
Needless to say, we are very happy with the final result. We feel like we made friends with everyone at Applefields and to be honest, actually miss them all!
