Applefields Ltd was founded in 2002 and since then has grown to provide a concept to completion for home extensions, garage conversions, new build homes and landscaping services. Our mantra has, and will always continue to be, that nothing is a problem and we strive to accommodate most ideas and alterations.

David has over 20 years of specialist brickwork and building experience and brings those attributes to our workforce and customers’ projects.
Peter Nicoll has also joined the company as a Director, to progress the company into the future, with a vast amount of experience in the construction industry.
We have a great team of professional tradesmen with many years of experience that work tirelessly to ensure our customers’ satisfaction is met and exceeded on each and every one of the projects we work on.

As proud long-standing members of the FMB, we are always proud to have our work recognised by such a prestigious institution in the construction industry. We continue to work hard on all of our projects regardless of our awards, however being considered for such an award shines a light on our level of workmanship – demonstrating to our customers, that we are a company that works extremely hard to produce outstanding, award-winning projects.
The national awards ceremony was hosted by TV presenter and building enthusiast Nick Knowles and was held at the InterContinental, Park Lane, London. More than 600 people attended the event including Master Builders from across the UK, members of the independent judging panel, journalists, sponsors and industry stakeholders, with light entertainment provided over lunch by The Champagne Trio.
Established in 1995, the APL, which is a specialist group of the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), and represents landscapers who have met a required standard of professionalism. Members of the Association are registered with the government endorsed TrustMark scheme and are regularly inspected and agree to follow our Customer Charter.

National landscaping award success for Applefields Ltd
Kent-based Applefields Ltd has been awarded top accolades at the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) Awards 2020, sponsored by Bradstone.
The company was awarded the Gold overall winner award for the project value £20,000 – £35,000, for their work on the project St Marys Island. A total of four awards on the night were scooped by Applefields
The judges’ commented, “Designed and built by Applefields this garden shows all the skills of Applefields and their ability to deliver stunning, modern contemporary gardens. The sheer lines created by the porcelain, complemented with exceptional detailing in the cuts, totally transformed this new build back garden. Raised borders hugged the entertaining area, making this a perfect place to relax. The spiral staircase, whilst providing a function, was an excellent aesthetic addition to a great contemporary build.”
The winners, announced at the awards event sponsored by Bradstone, held at The Brewery in London on Friday 13 March 2020, gained national recognition for their achievements and are a testament to the high calibre landscaping offered by APL members.
The awards, now in their 25th year, recognise and promote the very best in landscaping undertaken by APL members in categories that range from smaller projects, special features and soft landscaping to contracts of up to £200,000. The awards are a celebration of the high standards that have been achieved by members and demonstrate the APL’s commitment to quality landscaping.
This year’s judges were Richard Barnard from Hillier Landscapes (Chief judge), Steve Smith from Shore Landscapes, Bob Sweet – ex RHS Head of Garden Judging, Robin Templar Williams from Robin Williams and Associates, Rupert Keys from Keyscape Design & Construction and Phil Tremayne – APL General Manager.
The Association of Professional Landscapers comprises accredited landscape companies who design, build and maintain gardens throughout the UK. The APL is the only landscaping scheme operator of Trustmark, a Government endorsed initiative that promotes professional trades to consumers.

Rochester Business Applefields Ltd. Wins at National Landscaping Awards Garden landscaping business, Applefields Ltd. based in Rochester has won the ‘Best Traditional Patio Transformation’ accolade in the national 2016 Bradstone Assured Awards.
The annual awards recognise landscapers who demonstrate excellent levels of workmanship, design expertise and customer service with categories including the prestigious Installer of the Year, Best Garden Transformation and Best Driveway Transformation.
Following a raft of entry nominations at the end of last year from both landscapers and clients across the UK, an expert judging panel, including TV gardener, David Domoney, and Professional Builder magazine editor, Terry Smith, selected worthy winners from each category. Applefields directors, Mark Taylor and David Lelo, were presented the award by host and TV personality, David Domoney, and Bradstone’s commercial director, Toby Stuart-Jervis, surrounded by over 100 landscaping professionals at a glitzy awards ceremony at The Manor Hotel Meriden on Friday 22nd January.

The Trading Standards Checked Scheme is a fair trader directory for trades in the home maintenance sector run by Kent County Council (KCC). Trading Standards Checked carries out checks on traders so customers can have peace of mind when choosing a tradesperson to do work in their home.
Master Builders are committed to high standards and their membership of the FMB must be earned. Members have to pass a vetting and independent inspection process before joining.
The Master Builder logo represents quality, trust, protection and experience. When you choose a Master Builder company, you can build with confidence.
Local Authority Building Control (LABC) represents all local authority building control teams in England and Wales. It’s members work cooperatively with building owners, home owners, architects, plan drawers, developers, building contractors and other professionals to ensure buildings are safe, healthy and efficient to meet the standards set by the building regulations.
TrustMark is a quality mark which operates a framework under which 30 Scheme Operators work in the RMI (repair, maintenance and improvement) sector, including trade associations, local government trading standards teams, and independent Scheme Operators. These schemes are approved to carry the TrustMark logo and recruit reputable and trustworthy tradesmen. This enables the TrustMark Scheme Operators to promote improved RMI sector standards, and tackle related issues such as better enforcement. All of these Scheme Operators are audited annually by TrustMark, to ensure processes, standards and complaint procedures are being maintained.
Each year Medway Council receive around 5,000 complaints from customers about businesses in Medway, a large number of these associated with home improvements. The Medway fair trader scheme helps traders and businesses comply with the law and improves consumer protection.
